Volunteer readers

We know that regular reading is the key to success. It is literally life-changing! Children who read in their spare time are more likely to do well in school, have strong friendships, have better mental health and happier lives. Could you come in to support our children with their reading? Our volunteers tell us that it is incredibly rewarding to see the children improve week on week. Just an hour or so a week can significantly boost a child’s reading skills, self- belief and love for books. Why not enquire today?

Library Helper

At St Lawrence CofE (Aided) Junior School, we take great pride in our library. It's a place where our children have a special time reserved to explore and pick the books they love the most. We believe reading fuels knowledge, and we're dedicated to igniting that passion in them. During lunchtime, the library becomes a hub of activity, and we're grateful for the parent volunteers who help ensure everything operates seamlessly.

Volunteer for visits and events

Ensuring the safety of our children is paramount. We frequently seek assistance from our community for off-site activities, such as accompanying our children to the swimming pool and school trips. This collaboration helps maintain an appropriate adult-to-child ratio, crucial for keeping our children secure at all times.

In order to ensure the safety of our children, it is mandatory for our volunteers to undergo a DBS check. Kindly fill out the form below to initiate the application process. If you already have a DBS and are on the DBS update service, please complete the DBS Update service form.  Additionally, please complete the volunteer form to provide us with details regarding your availability and preferred way to assist our children.
